Frequently Asked Questions
WHAT BREEDS OF DOG DO PUGGEROOMIE BOARD?
Although the name Puggeroomie was inspired by offering a pet service that enables your pugs to be our 'roomie', we also welcome all small breeds of dog. The only requirement Puggeroomie have is that all dogs who share time at our home are able to share the same environment positively with our four much loved resident pugs.
Puggeroomie is a very sought after service by pug clients, all snorts, wrinkly faces and curly whirly tails!
In saying this, on occasions we have found that a pug client may have a French Bulldog or King Charles Cavalier family member.
So how do we adapt to change in our diary? The majority of our bookings are from pugs and all snorts but every now and then we may board another small breed. When this happens we board them exclusively with our resident dogs only to enable us to have pug exclusive days too!

CAN YOU DESCRIBE A TYPICAL DAY SPENT AT PUGGEROOMIE
First Thing.
Here at Puggeroomie we usually wake up early. The dogs will enjoy ‘The Beach Garden’ for an early morning paw stretch followed by an all important sniff and tinkle. Nothing beats seeing the pugs munching those early morning dewed cobwebs and refreshing their paws in the damp teary grass. A lovely start to our day. At all times in ‘The Beach Garden’ all dogs are supervised, and ID tagged with Puggeroomie contact details.
Before Breakfast.
Puggeroomie like to wipe any sleepy dust away from our pugs eyes. We have some lovely wipes and will happily treat our 'roomies' to a little pre breakfast facial too. As per your instructions of course and taking any allergies into account.
Breakfast.
After our little paw stretch in ‘The Beach Garden’ and mini facial we then meet in kitchen where breakfast is prepared. If your dog(s) are staying as our ‘roomie’ we ask owners to supply food and Puggeroomie will ensure all dogs are fed as per the instructions on your booking form. We have kitchen scales for dogs that are following a strict diet recommended by your vet. When breakfast is served, the pugs like to break out those I’m hungry dance moves. Sometimes Rosie will try a 360 back flip from off the kitchen cupboards and then pirouette like a ballerina, Kobe will moonwalk backwards and kick his back legs in the air, Poldark well he likes to sing and Demelza bounces up and down along side the kitchen bar. I have seen some phenomenal dance offs I can tell you! So, please do not worry about jumping, barking, whizzing or climbing up legs. All dancers are warmly welcomed.
A Morning Walk.
Living in beautiful Lee On The Solent there are so many lovely walks by foot. Although we have our own transport too compliant with DEFRA. Puggeroomie will tailor walks to suit your needs and wants. Poldark loves to tap dancing in the mud. Kobe likes open fields to zoomies in. Rosie ‘Ms Water Babe’ loves to doggie dip. Every dog is different and we take that into account here at Puggeroomie. We can enjoy short walks together or longer walks. Either way Puggeroomie will carry all essentials in our bag. From water, treats, poop bags, pop up water bowls, a first aid kit and all sorts.
Mid Morning.
Dependant on the seasons, the set up can change here at Puggeroomie.
During the day all dogs have access to our home and our own private ‘Beach Garden’ a place where all dogs can either play or relax.
‘The Beach Garden’ is a fully safe and secured area that is always locked. Puggeroomie even have CCTV. To name a few of our outside toys. We have a Wendy house, a red slide, a ball pool, a paddling pool, a play car, tunnels and a selection of soft toys. The list is endless!
We have bottomless fresh water throughout the day and several bowls are dotted around our home. We also have a doggie fridge and freezer for ice cream, treats and frozen raw meat food.
For sofa surfers we have comfy sofas inside our home with cushions and of course fresh blankets.
In the hot summer months, we have a ‘Keep Cool Corner’ cooling mats and massive umbrellas for shade. Also in the summer months the kitchen door is always open, so all dogs can run around our home into the fully enclosed ‘Beach Garden’.
In the winter months ‘The Beach Garden’ is packed away. I have been known to bring tents and slides into the front room/kitchen family room of our home with other interactive toys!
We also have fun in ‘The Beach Garden’ throughout the day. Dogs are always supervised here.
Lunchtime
Yes, you’ve guessed more kitchen dancing and singing until dogs are given their food. We feed all dogs separately. If you would like your dog to be fed not separately then we ask for written consent. Not all dogs eat lunchtime but we will follow as per your instructions on your booking form.
In the afternoon
Some play, some cuddle, some snore. All dogs can do what ever takes their fancy.
Dinnertime
Yes, you’ve guessed again more kitchen dancing and singing until they are given their food. We have our last of the day paw stretch and night time tinkles. We then settle down for our movie and they can stay up late, on occasions for our popular pajama party service.
The Evening
Sofa surfing, secret snacks, movies, fresh blankets, underfloor heating in the colder months, cooling beds in the hotter months. Cushion swapping, soft toys, cuddles from myself and Steve, Badger watching for all wildlife lovers and sometimes all dogs will all sing and dance to horses on the TV.
I hope you have found this useful. If you need to know anything more contact Joe Lee on 07494573230

WILL MY DOG(S) BE LEFT WHILE IN YOUR CARE?
Dogs that board with Puggeroomie are care for around the clock. Inevitably, there may be few and far between short periods when your dog may be left in good company along with our resident dogs (in a safe and secure environment). An example of these times may be when other 'roomies' in our care may need to attend the vets, or we may need to pop to the shops for tea, milk and dog treats.
