Through windows by Joe Lee - Written 20/05/2020 sat on the beach.
In this uncertain time we must stay apart,
So for the now, I'll carry you inside my heart.
Through windows we air cuddle to then talk on the phone.
Social distancing saves lives while we stay safe in our homes.
I miss you so much words fail me, just now.
Through windows we sign, a new namaste bow.
I watch every sunrise in hope we'll be together again soon.
I blow a kiss everynight in your direction under our moon.
I clap NHS on a Thursday and bang my pots and pans.
I sing ridiculous songs on washing my hands.
Through windows just seeing your faces to me means oh so much.
On the days that I cry when this world feels so tough.
In this time of coronavirus we must try to find our smiles.
Painted rainbows on all windows brings us hope for a while.
Our garden birds sing much louder which is lovely to hear.
Soon that will be us when we reunite celebrate and cheer.
For now I'm looking though windows at all my teddy bears
The ones I put out for children to hunt here and there.
I reminisce of when I was little and the songs you would both sing.
So close inside my heart as I touch my diamond ring.
In this uncertain time we must stay apart.
But for now, I am carrying you both in my heart.
